Where Productboard is the better choice
- A genuine product-management system: prioritization frameworks, objectives, release planning.
- Built for several product managers working together, with the roles and permissions that implies.
- Enterprise pieces you may eventually need, like SSO, SCIM and Salesforce.
- A free plan that is workable for one person, if 500 feedback notes is enough.
Where Honeycomb is a different bet
- No seat minimum. If it is just you, you pay for just you.
- One flat price rather than per-maker pricing that multiplies as you hire.
- Voting rounds with points and a closing date, so you get a decision instead of a backlog.
- It does one job. There is no prioritization framework to learn before you can collect a piece of feedback.
So which one
Pick Productboard if you have a product team, several people need to work in the tool, and you want prioritization and planning in the same place as the feedback.
Pick Honeycomb if you are a founder or a team of two or three, you want feedback in and a clear answer out, and you would rather not pay a two-seat minimum for a one-person job.
